One thousand lucky South Africans will become winners of 2010 FIFA World Cup tickets when First National Bank (FNB) hosts their first promotional ticket draw early next month.
As an official national supporter of the 2010 World Cup, FNB will be distributing a total of 16 000 free World Cup tickets. Five hundred double tickets will be given away in 12 draws set to take place over the next two years. The first draw is scheduled for 14 February 2008.
To qualify for the draw one must be a FNB customer and utilise one of their ‘goal scoring’ products. These include deposit, loans, credit, transactional, investment and home loans products, or FNB eBucks rewards membership.
One can score additional ‘goals’ and increase your chances of winning, by making four or more withdrawals on your FNB account before 31 January 2008. Accounts opened and transactions made after this date will qualify for the second draw in May 2008.
Speaking at the launch of the promotion in November last year, FNB’s CEO Michael Jordaan explained that the aim of the campaign was to ensure that as many people as possible, especially those who would not be able to afford match tickets, would be able to watch the World Cup games live.
“FNB’s campaign ensures that South Africans too are guaranteed a part of this action, and righfully so, as the host nation of this mammoth event,â€? he told the press.
The promotion is working in conjunction with FNB’s “Learn to Score campaign which will see 3000 FNB staff members win World Cup tickets.
The Local Organising Committee announced last year that ticket prices for the World Cup will range from R133 for a category four ticket for a group stage match to about R6 024 for a category four ticket for the final match.
